RESTLESS

I'm so ready to leave school and get a job. Well, maybe not ready artistically, but there's nothing I want to do more than go out and work. I'm making lists of game companies I want to apply to and I'm incredibly nervous and excited at the same time.
I'm sitting here with assignments piling up and just LONGING to be done with them so I can just build up a portfolio.
I'm a little conflicted, because I don't quite know which would be better for me: working on things that I like-- things that will make my portfolio better, or working on what I'm supposed to work on-- things that I really have no interest in but will make my grades better. I have a lot of trouble balancing things that use TIME, so it's very much one way or the other.
Also I need a bigger desk, dammit.

Also also: I'm listening to the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack, wishing it would come out on DVD already. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I loved that movie and how much it resonated with me. It's like: if there ever was a movie I could use to show my kids a snapshot of our generation's adolescence, Scott Pilgrim fits it to a T.

Also also also: I'm just going to keep a 'New Post' page on my screen every day. My head is completely full of things to say, and then my the time I sit down to write it, it's all gone. Guess I have to trick myself into putting things out there.

Also^5: Photoshop CS5 is THE BEST

Here's a new style I'm sort of playing with in my sketch book.

Sketchbloggy

This summer I have hardly had any time to make finished pieces, but I have been working while running my Ghibli art camp thing. I need something to reassure me that I'm doing work. So, I think this is just gonna be my sketchbook blog or summat.

... I'm assuming I haven't posted this same entry already. As far as I know, every post in this blog says the same thing.

Bioshock 2 and Other Things

I was playing Bioshock 2 and actively thinking "wow, this is really getting fun" and suddenly while taking down a Big Sister, the game froze. I hadn't saved in a while, so I lost a lot of time and effort and now I'm venting.
GRRRRRRokay.

About Bioshock 2. As mind-blowingly pretty as it is, it has none of the deliciously scary moments it's predecessor had (so far, anyway) so I'm a little put-out. But I just found out how to use a mini-turret, so the Little Sister escort missions are getting more fun and less frustrating.

There's something less charming about the characters, but I'm sure I'll grow to accept them.

Also, Bioshock 2's online multiplayer mode is FUN AS ALL HELL. It's pretty much a dumbed-down version of Team Fortress 2, except I'M WINNING ALL THE TIME. HAW HAW.

Blah blah February vacation blah.

OH SHIT new computer coming in March :B I AM EXCITE because TF2 and S4 League.

Andddd.

Some character sketches. From different sketch books. They'll be coloured soonish.
